In ANY discipline, think about possible topics for a research or non-research project that interests you. Use our Project Archive to look at past projects to see what others have worked on. Create a list of project ideas. You can narrow it down with your mentor at a later time.
Step 2: Sign up for the Symposium Canvas website
Join the . This is where you will get announcements on due dates, where you will submit your forms and projects, get information on how to create your project, and connect with our committee.
Step 3: Find a Mentor
Find a mentor from:

- Ask a faculty or staff member
- Attend one of our Social Events
Step 4: Choose Your Project
- Discuss ideas with your mentor
- Start your project
- If you need up to $100 for associated costs fill out the with your mentor.
Step 5: Submit a Project Proposal Form (on Canvas)

Continue work on your project with your mentor’s guidance.
Step 7: Abstract/Project Description First Draft (form on Canvas)
