This dance is a vibrant invocation dedicated to Lord Ganesha-the Remover of Obstacles, the God of Beginnings, and the Patron of Wisdom, Intellect, Arts, and Sciences. With his elephant head and powerful presence, Ganesha symbolizes both spiritual strength and mental clarity. One unique gesture often associated with Ganesha is ear pulling - a ritual believed to stimulate acupressure points linked to the brain said to enhance memory, focus, and mental energy. The mouse represents our desires and ego—small but powerful.
Heartfelt gratitude to the scholars and researchers who have contributed to reviving this beautiful dance piece, originally performed by the last court dancer of Mysore. Their dedication has helped preserve this valuable cultural treasure for future generations.
